Overview of some tourist attractions

Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia. It is a historical region. There are a huge number of attractions related to history. There is the medieval castle, numerous cathedrals as well as museums. Piestany is a spa resort located about an hour from Bratislava by train. This is popular with health related treatments. Piestany has on offer reasonable prices and high quality services. Piestany has a number of good hotels, and a range of restaurants.

- More than 4.000 caves : the most famous : Dominca, Jašov, Ochtínská

- 1.000 thermal sources : in the Northern Slovakia (Bešeňová, close to Liptovský Mikuláš, Vírbov or close to Kežmarok) opened the whole year. A thermal cave : Sklené Teplice.

- “Skanzen” : etnographic ecomuseums (houses, churches, mill houses,…) presenting traditional art and regional folklor. (in Martin, Zuberec-Bardejovské Kúpele, Humené and Svidnik)

- Kežmarok : provides spectacular views of the Tatras from the town center. The highlight of any stay in Kežmarok is the town Castle, with its superb expositions.
